Dr. Herman Thomas: Culture is a Beautiful Thing
Former Afro-American Cultural Center Board Chair, Dr. Herman E. Thomas, expresses the importance of presenting and preserving culture and how recognizing its value allows you to understand its possibilities. Now retired, Dr. Thomas worked as a professor of religious studies and assistant director of the African and African American Studies program at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He also founded the University Transition Opportunities Program (UTOP) on campus which had much to do with the success of multicultural programs at the University.
